Rancho Palos Verdes, a scenic coastal city just south of Torrance, offers a slice of paradise with its stunning golf courses and trails along the Pacific Ocean. The best part? These trails are pup-approved, making it an ideal spot to treat your furry friend to soak up the California sun.
Our Journey at Point Vicente
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, Toby and I decided to explore the beautiful trail near the Point Vicente Interpretive Center. With its stunning coastal views and the iconic Point Vicente lighthouse, this place had us hooked from the start.
We managed to find a spot in the dirt lot just south of the paved parking area. From there, our journey began, heading north along the trail. The green park we passed through was teeming with families and their furry companions soaking up the sun. Toby couldn’t resist sniffing around the charming garden area near the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, uncovering new scents along the way.

Continuing on the well-maintained dirt trail, we enjoyed ample space for both humans and dogs. Keep in mind, there’s not much shade along the way, so be sure to bring your sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat to stay protected under the California sun. However, the gentle ocean breeze from the nearby Pacific Ocean provided a refreshing respite as we ventured further.
Our path led us to a vista point on Calle Entrado, where we paused to take in the breathtaking coastal scenery before deciding it was time to retrace our steps. We followed the same trail back to the parking lot, where Toby and I replenished ourselves with an entire bottle of water, quenching our thirst and preparing for the journey home.
